Article 62 -1 F is a threat to not only CM Punjab but for all who made tall claims and high promises
(WebDesk/DunyaNews) - From the inquiry report of National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) coordinator Khaliq Dad submitted to the Supreme Court in the case of DPO PakPattan Transer, the misuse of political influence and interference in the official conduct of Punjab police by the Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar is evident.

Khaliq Dad’s inquiry report found that Ahsan Iqbal Jameel Gujjar – a family friend of Khawar Maneka, the first lady’s former husband – was threatening in his conduct at the meeting with Gondal at the Chief Minister’s Office. In the same way, the report observed that the former Punjab IGP’s conduct created the impression that there was pressure to teach DPO Rizwan Gondal a strict lesson. According to report, with his All-Good Report, IG Punjab Kalim Shah has acted as rubber-stamp. He has tended to present himself more loyal than the accused. The urgent transfer of DPO shows the ill-intention.
Incumbent government’s attitude in running the official affairs with their predecessors is exposing the same old patronizing, nepotism and political influence and interference as it had in the conduct of former governments except they never made such tall and deceptive claims to mislead and exploit people by aggrandizing the flaws of system in their favor.
On the other hand, the honorable Chief Justice Aijaz ul Hassan expressed a displeased and discontentment over such misconduct of the political elite of new ruling party and the highest provincial office bearer CM Punjab Usman Buzdar. He warned CM Punjab to learn more about the Article 62-1 (F) of constitution. The said article is very crucial with the eligibility parameters of the elected members of assembly.

The report submitted by the NACTA coordinator Khaliq Dad highlights many points which can be used in re-shaping and reviving the police system and to regulate the officials to act in accordance with their professional conduct without being succumbed to the political pressure.
The basic question arises here is why Police officials instead of considering themselves machinery of the state, bow down to the political interference and pressure of the political elite or the government officials?
Now, Pakistan is having a new ‘Tabdeeli’ party – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan led government of Naya Pakistan who is a known supporter to free the institutions of political interference and unnecessary extension of political individuals’ jurisdiction to the irrelevant departments.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has fallen victim of his own tall claims and big promises and still has not shown any substantial and potential actions against such havoc wreaking to the government of Punjab with the interference of CM Punjab in the Punjab Police professional and official conduct. Instead, PM Khan’s silence in this regard is pointing towards his ill-will in taking the responsible to the task.

The basic question arises here is why Police officials instead of considering themselves machinery of the state, bow down to the political interference and pressure of the political elite or the government officials?
Last month while chairing an important meeting, Prime Minister assured his commitment to remain unaffected politically to the bureaucracy and other state institutions and ensured that former Chief Secretary would remain as Chief Secretary of Punjab and continue his duties in the same capacity however in next week he has been removed from his position by the Khan led government to allegedly strong his hold in Punjab.

The bar has now raised to such level that the professional misconduct and inappropriate official wrongdoing and political interference of ‘Purana Pakistan’ remain continue in ‘Naya Pakistan’ cannot be overlooked and the sword of 62 – 1(F) can take the delight and badge of any Member of Parliament.
