LAHORE (Dunya News) - National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) Chairman Mehr Khalid Dad Lak on Wednesday has presented an inquiry report in Pakpattan DPO transfer case in Supreme Court.

The report has revealed political influence was exercised by CM Punjab Usman Buzdar to transfer Pakpattan District Police Officer’s (DPO) Rizwan Gondal.

The transfer came in the backlash of Khawar Fareed Manika s altercation with Gondal over alleged mistreatment of police personnel with his son and daughter while they were heading to Pakpattan in a car and Manika s demand of DPO to tender an apology to him by visiting his outhouse.

It is important to note here that Khawar Manika is the ex-husband of First Lady Bushra Imran and member of politically influential manika family in Pakpattan.

On August 31, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had taken suo motu notice of the transfer of DPO Gondal and appointed former Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Imam to inquire the case and submit report. The report which cleared CM Buzdar of charge of influencing the case and transfer was rejected by SC.

Afterwards, CJP appointed NACTA chairman to probe the case and submit report. The report has exposed political influence behind transfer of DPO Gondal.

Meanwhile, Ahsan Jameel Gujjar, central character of story, has tendered an unconditional apology to SC.

In today s hearing in the case, Khawar Manika appeared before SC and presented his stance.

Lately, in the wake of inquiry report presented by NACTA Chairman the court has sought replies from CM Usman Buzdar, Khawar Fareed Manika, Ahsan Jameel and former Punjab IG Kaleem Iman who is currently serving as Sindh police chief.
