Iranian envoy felicitates Zardari on winning presidential election
ISLAMABAD (APP) - Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam on Saturday congratulated Asif Ali Zardari on his election to the office of the President.
“I would like to express my sincere congratulations on the election of H.E. Asif Ali Zardari, as the 14th President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” the Ambassador said in a statement.
He said Asif Ali Zardari reminded them the “glorious and golden days” of the relations between the two brotherly, friendly and neighboring countries of Iran and Pakistan.
Outgoing president Alvi says honoured to serve the people
Outgoing President Dr Arif Alvi has said that it had been an honour for him to serve the people of Pakistan.
In a post on his X account, he said he did not doubt that a brilliant future awaited the country.
PM Shehbaz congratulates President Zardari
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended his felicitations and warm wishes for the newly elected President Asif Ali Zardari.
The PM mentioned that the elected representatives of National Assembly, Senate and provinces have expressed full confidence on Asif Ali Zardari as president.
Meanwhile, the PM added that, “the newly elected president is the symbol of strength for the federation while hoping that he will fulfill his role as president adequately.”
Zardari makes history by getting elected President again
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was elected as 14th President of Pakistan on Saturday.
Zardari, who was the joint candidate of the PPP, PML-N, MQM-P and other coalition parties, defeated Sunni Ittehad Council-backed Mahmood Khan Achakzai in the presidential race.
It would be his second stint as president of the country as he also remained in the office during 2008 to 2013. He will replace outgoing President Dr Arif Alvi.
JUI-F and JI lawmakers did not participate in the process to elect next president of the country.
CM Sarfraz Bugti thanks National Party for voting for presidential candidate Zardari
QUETTA (Dunya News) - Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti thanked the opposition group National Party for voting for presidential candidate Asif Zardari.
The Balochistan Chief Minister said that talks were also held with the leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. He said that Asif Ali Zardari took important steps including the 18th amendment and initiation of rights in Balochistan.

Voting to elect the 14th president of Pakistan for next five years was held in the Senate, and national and provincial assemblies on Saturday.
The voting concluded at 4pm and counting began. The voting was held from 10am to 4pm without break.
Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), are vying for the prestigious office.
