Indian spy agency provided substantial funding for terrorism and targeted killings
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan's law enforcement agencies on Saturday uncovered a major network of India’s notorious intelligence agency RAW involved in targeted killings in the country.
During a press conference, Additional IG CTD Sindh and DIG revealed that on May 18, 2025, a landlord named Abdul Rehman was murdered in the Matli area of Badin. The deceased was known for his welfare work in the region.
AIG Azad Khan stated that CCTV footage of the incident showed three suspects, and eyewitnesses also identified them. Two suspects were arrested, and a pistol and motorcycle used in the crime were recovered from their possession.
Further investigation revealed RAW’s involvement in the murder. A safe house had been set up in Karachi by RAW for terrorists, and the planning for target killings and terrorism was done from abroad. RAW agent Sanjay Sanjeev Kumar, also known as "Fauji," recruited two Pakistanis—Salman and Arsalan—working in a Gulf state as agents. Salman then formed a target killing gang consisting of Umair, Sajjad, Ubaid, and Shakeel.
RAW provided substantial funding for terrorism and targeted killings. The funds were transferred through official banking channels. Evidence has also emerged of RAW’s involvement in bombings and terrorist attacks in Karachi and other cities.
Weapons recovered from the arrested RAW-linked target killers include 9mm pistols, .30 bore pistols, 125 mortar shells, and even an explosive device.
CTD has registered cases under anti-terrorism laws. The suspects confessed to working as local agents for RAW and were also found to be affiliated with the banned organization SRA. Names of potential future targets were also found during the investigation.
The Additional IG CTD confirmed that the arrested individuals admitted to planning various terrorist activities in Karachi, and noted that Indian media had celebrated the murder.
