PPP has suggested to hold protests outside the parliament building after six months.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Efforts by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to unite opposition parties against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have apparently failed to produce desired results as the People’s Party (PPP) and PML-N have agreed to defer protest movements against the government.

Sources close to the development say that the PPP has suggested to hold protests outside the parliament building after six months. The party believes any kind of protest movement, if initiated now, would led to negative public portrayal of the opposition, they added.

The JUI-F chief has already met key opposition figures including PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in his bid to convince them to attend a potential multi-party conference.

Sources say if Fazl decides to go ahead with his planned multi-party conference then it won’t include senior leadership of the PPP and PML-N.

Earlier today, Nawaz Sharif arrived in parliament where he met Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif. The duo reviewed country’s overall political situation.
