The JUI-F chief stressed the need to hold a session of leaders of the parliamentary parties.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Wednesday announced he had postponed a multi-party conference of the joint opposition.

Fazl stressed the need to hold a session of leaders of the parliamentary parties, saying he would approach Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif in this regard.

Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq called on the JUI-F chief at his residence. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Fazl said the joint opposition had agreed that all parties should be on the same page.

“Raja Zafarul Haq has suggested to finalise rules and regulations of the multi-party conference. We have to decide on some basics and then move forward with the conference,” he added.

The PML-N chairman on his part dismissed the impression that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari’s decision to pull out of the conference resulted in its failure.

“Opposition will soon emerge on the same platform,” he said.
