MPA Amjad Afridi protested by sitting in front of speaker's dice in the KP assembly session

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly witnessed an interruption, on Wednesday, when a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf Amjad Afridi started protesting in front of the speaker’s dice, reported Dunya News.

The MPA sat facing the speaker’s dice for not getting development funds from the provincial government of KP. He insisted that the government was being unjust to the people of his constituency.

The proceedings further contained the approval of a resolution that contained merging of tribal areas in KP. It was opposed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI). The approved resolution was presented by PTI’s Haider Ali and had gained majority support from the parliament.

Another significant event in the house was the mentioning of a Dunya News report which highlighted the frequent use of government-owned helicopters by the provincial leadership. The report was brought to light by the JUI MPA Mufti Fazal Ghafoor.

No check on use of govt helicopters in KP

The JUI leader questioned the use of two helicopters by the KP government after which the speaker of house sought a detailed record of the helicopter usage by current and past government. Fazal Ghafoor’s question was directed to the concerned committee.
