 OKARA (Dunya News) – Police raided and killed three out of six dacoits suspected of robbing citizens in Okara district of Punjab province during the wee hours of Saturday night.

According to police sources, upon receiving information of robbery by some miscreants in the near Kot Bari area of the city, forces rushed towards the scene. Upon seeing police arriving, the outlaws started firing on police party.

Police resorted to retaliatory fire which resulted in the death of three robbers, whereas the other three fled the scene utilising the advantage of dark. The authorities also claim that weapons, motorcycles and looted valuables have also been recovered from the deceased suspects.

Police also recovered tied up citizens that the dacoits were keeping in nearby fields after looting them. However, a search operation has been initiated to trace out the fleeing dacoits and bring them to justice according to the sanctions of law.
