Police arrest main suspect of Mufti Abdul Qayyum's murder

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Police on Saturday arrested the main suspect involved in the murder of Mufti Abdul Qayyum in Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi.
Police said an intelligence officer of the police, Muhammad Atiq, was behind the murder of the cleric, adding that the suspect was watching the murder live on the CCTV camera and Mufti Abdul Qayyum was killed right outside the suspect Atiq’s residence. Atiq was also found to be in contact with the hired assassins before the murder.
The police authorities said Atiq was recently transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency and he had been performing duties at many sensitive and important places.
Police investigation further revealed that the suspect had hired killers to murder two more persons. Mufti Abdul Qayyum was shot and killed on March 21.
