IG suspended several policemen for alleged involvement in smuggling
KARACHI (Dunya News) - IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has suspended 28 policemen including SHO’s from rural Sindh. The policemen were suspended on suspicion of their involvement in smuggling of contraband oil from Iran and non-custom paid cars.
The grand operation against black sheep in police uniform was conducted as the Sindh police ramped up their anti-crime operations. Along several SHOs, the police has also suspended PSO of the SSP Jacobabad.
The IG has formulated an investigation committee under AIG Imran Yaqoob Minhas. The committee includes DIG crime branch Amir Farooq and SSP Dadu Abdul Khaliq Peerzada as well.
The suspected officers were ordered to report at police lines.
