Report: 'A hospital and 112 beds' is all PTI delivered in health in its tenure in KP
PTI delivered 112 beds only in comparison with ANP which had increased 1713 beds in its tenure
(WebDesk) - Despite the tall claims of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in bringing reforms in the sectors of education, health and others, nothing substantial comes up even after a full five year tenure of PTI led government in Khyber PakhtunKha.
Along with the debacles of BRT Peshawar and syllabus change disasters, PTI in its first tenure also miserably failed in delivering any potential and worth mentioning development in the sector of health.
Establishment of a hospital and an increase of 112 beds in already established hospitals is all PTI can be given credit for health sector growth in its first tenure.
After taking the charge post elections 2013, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf declared emergency in health sector along with education though the outcomes are quite disappointing.
Former government of PTI led by the former Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak admitted in their five year performance report of health, no major differences have been brought in the expansion of the health care facilities in KPK.

PTI built only 01 hospital of 40 beds in five years
Except an establishment of a 40-bed hospital in Abbottabad, there was no project in the name of PTI. According to report, fifteen hospitals and the health care centres were supposed to be established which would increase 2085 beds in Khyber Pakhtun Kha.
Unfortunately, only three out of fifteen were kicked off in the government of PTI whereas nine were initiated by Awami National Party in their tenure and three were resumed by the former government of Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal, said the five year performance report.

PTI delivered 112 beds however, ANP had increased 1713 beds in their tenure
PTI increased only 112 beds in their first tenure of their government in Khyber PakhtunKha. In comparison with ANP that had increased 1713 beds and MMA has a credit of an increase of 260 beds amid other health care facilities, PTI has shown not an impressive performance.
Nothing substantial even in the projects on the verge of completion
According to report, there are 15 projects which are slated to be completed by the end of 2018-19. These 15 projects would help in bringing in the facilities of health care of 2026 beds in Khyber PakhtunKha.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s proclamations of bringing reforms in education, health, infrastructure, accountability and even in law, are poorly divulged in the last tenure of the five year government led by the former Chief Minister and a PTI loyalist Pervaiz Khattak.
Interestingly, out of fifteen although nine projects were begun in the first tenure of Khattak led PTI government which after completion would only increase 576 beds out of 2026 beds slated to be increased in Khyber PakhtunKha.
Remaining six projects that were started in ANP government prior to 2013 general elections, would after completion almost thrice times increase the number of beds.
The completion of these six health care projected started in the government of ANP would increase around 2050 beds in the present health care system of Khyber Pakhtun Kha.

Even PTI failed to deliver in Peshawar
The latest completed project of Moulvi Hospital of 228 beds in Peshawar was even initiated in 2007.
Out of fifteen only five of the health care projects are concluded. Unfortunately, only one belongs to the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Remaining four are the projects of Awami National Party led government prior to the government of PTI.
Even in the under construction projects, only one is underway in Peshawar that too had started in 2007.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s proclamations of bringing reforms in education, health, infrastructure, accountability and even in law, are poorly divulged in the last tenure of the five year government led by the former Chief Minister and a PTI loyalist Pervaiz Khattak, who has been given in the present tenure the crucial ministry of Defense.
All the tall claims and arguments made before the general elections 2018 has substantially proven erroneous and false after the performance reports of the governments of last tenure are being surfaced to scrutinise the work previous provincial governments have done in their tenure. It is hoped that PTI would succeed in keeping the promises in the next tenure.
