Farhan Azmi has claimed to receive threats, warning to kill him and family for marrying Hindu girl
(Web Desk) – Ayesha Takia’s husband has filed a complaint in police station over receiving threat calls from a Hindu extremist group. They have warned to kill him as he married a Hindu girl, the complaint reads.
Farhan Azmi has stated that he was contacted by Hindu Sena, an Indian extremist right-wing organisation, who threatened to murder him and his whole family in the ‘crime’ of marrying a Hindu girl. As the name suggests, Farhan is an Indian Muslim. He is the son of Abu Azmi, a lawmaker from Samajwadi Party.
The Hindu activist group warned him with threatening phone calls on numerous occasions. An unknown caller said, "You are all animals. Have you forgotten that you have indulged in Love Jihad bu marrying a Hindu girl?"
He has requested the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and asked for protection. Police sources confirmed that the complaint was lodged and they are looking into the threatening calls received by Ayesha’s husband.
Talking about the threats, Farhan said, “This is a serious matter and should be investigated as we are living under threat.” He submitted his application directly to the Mumbai police commissioner and informed him of his concerns.
