Vidya Balan starrer 'Begum Jaan' not releasing in Pakistan
The Bollywood film directed by Srijit Mukherji recalls partition between India and Pakistan
(Web Desk) – Vidya Balan starrer Begum Jaan is reportedly not releasing in Pakistan as the story is based on partition between India and Pakistan. The actress plays as the role of brothel madam in her latest flick.
Although the trailer of the movie is somewhat unique, the movie appears to be banned in Pakistan due to certain reasons. The storyline revolves around partition and independence of Pakistan and India from the British colonial powers.
It was reported that renowned producer Mahesh Bhatt had appeal to the Pakistani authorities and asked them to release his film. However, begum Jaan is less likely to release in Pakistan due to the sensitive topic.
The ban is not surprising because Pakistan had earlier refused to showcase Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’apart from Jolly LLB and Neerja . Currently, the political situation between both countries remains hostile in the light of recent uprising in Indian occupied Kashmir.
