Three people were killed as a rocket, fired by Gaddafis men, hit the rebel stronghold Misrata.

Moammar Gadhafis forces launched a surprise ground and artillery attack against Misratas port, threatening citys sole lifeline to the world just two days after rebels drove the government forces out of the city.Meanwhile, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation continued its air strikes on the western border near the city of Misrata, where President Gaddafi’s forces besieged the city.The aircraft successfully targeted tanks and armoured vehicles near Misrata. The US government lifted sanctions against Libya so that the rebels could export oil from the areas held under their control.
