Kerry will land in Bangladesh on 29th of August and discuss regional strategic issues with officials

NEW YORK: (Dunya News) – United States (US) Secretary of State Senator John Kerry will is going to visit India and Bangladesh next week. The senator will arrive in Dhaka on 29th of August and meet the Bangladesh officials to discuss the regional strategic issues, reported Dunya News.

According to a credible source, John Kerry is going to mediate between India and Bangladesh over the issues of conflict and will also take the Bangladeshi officials into confidence regarding the US strategy to contain China’s rising influence in the region.

The sources told that the human rights organisations have stressed that John Kerry must take up the issue of hangings of Jamaat Islami (JI) leaders in Bangladesh with the country’s leadership. Moreover, John Kerry will stay in India from 29th of August to the 31st.

The US media has declared the visit quite extraordinary. Kerry will meet Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Minister for Industry and Business Nirmala Seeta Raman. These meetings will also discuss Indian decision to deploy BrahMos missiles at the Chinese border. India will also take US into confidence regarding its decision to sell the BrahMos missiles to five countries including Vietnam.

Egyptian President Abdul Fateh al-Sisi, according to sources, is also going to be on a 3-day visit to India from 1st of September. During his visit, Sisi will meet Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior government officials. This is al-Sisi’s second visit to India within a year and it is apparent that Kashmir, Afghanistan and Balochistan issues will be discussed in the meetings as India is trying to win over the Muslim countries over Kashmir and other issues.
