More than a hundred turtles invaded the runway at the JFK airport and caused flight delays.
About 150 turtles, in search of beaches to lay their eggs, crawled into the busy runway of John F Kennedy airport and delayed dozens of flights. The animals were first noticed by a pilot around 6:45am and within three hours there were so many of the turtles on runway that air traffic control authorities were forced to re-route planes.Workers from the New York and New Jersey Port Authority and the US Department of Agriculture started scooping up the turtles and moving them to safety.
