FIA arrests foreigner with fake UN passport in special operation
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a foreigner with a fake UN passport in a special operation based on information given by the Turkish Embassy.
The Nigerian citizen had submitted a fake UN passport and ID to the Turkish Embassy. On the identification of the fraudster, the Human Trafficking Wing of FIA raided a guest house in F-8 area of Islamabad and recovered 6 UNO passports and 7 UNO IDs.
A Pakistani agent Afzal Chaudhry, who worked with the accused, was also arrested on the spot. Both of their mobile phones have been sent to the forensic laboratory for further evidence collection and details of their property and bank accounts are also being sought.
FIA officials say the suspect went to the Turkish embassy to obtain a Turkish visa on a fake passport. A written request from the Turkish Embassy has also been provided to the FIA.
