1,210 wanted terrorism suspects remain at large: FIA

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has said that the number of suspects and terrorists wanted by the agency has reached 1,210. FIA’s counter-terrorism wing has been unable to arrest these criminals for the past 16 years.

According to details, the wanted criminals and terrorists include 737 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 161 from Balochistan, 122 from Punjab, 100 from Sindh, 32 from Islamabad, 30 from Gilgit-Baltistan and 28 others.

This was revealed during the hearing of the former judge Arshad Malik’s video scandal case against PML-N leader Nasir Butt in Islamabad Terrorism Court. According to the list submitted, terrorists involved in the assassination attempt on former President Pervez Musharraf, suicide attack on former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and former Minister Shuja Khanzada, kidnapping of Ali Haider Gilani and the Mumbai attack case are still at large.

The list also included MQM leaders Altaf Hussain and Muhammad Anwar, PML-N leader Nasir Butt and various others accused in major terrorism incidents.
