Opposition Leader rejects budget terming it 'elitist'
Khurshid Shah says budget is a 'budget of elite', says nation disappointed over budget speech
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has on Friday rejected the budget 2015-16, terming it elitist. He said that it was a ‘budget of the elite’ and nation was disappointed after hearing the budget speech by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, reported Dunya News.
Talking to the journalists in his chambers at the Parliament House, Khurshid Shah said that the budget was just praising the government’s performance. He said that all he heard during the speech was the announcements made about increase in taxes.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader said that the budget was made on the conditions of International Monetary Fund (IMF). How would common benefit from reduction in the prices of the spare parts of planes, he questioned. He said that there was nothing for the poor in the budget.
