Blind people continue protest on 2nd day due to unemployment
The government officials did not meet the delegation due to busy schedule
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The demonstration of protest by the blind unemployed people on Tuesday continues in the premises of the Punjab Assembly. Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif called a delegation to the CM House for talks but the government officials did not meet the delegation due to busy schedule.
Provincial Interior Minister Col (r) Shuja Khanzada ensured provision of jobs but they refused to end the protest until employment notifications are handed over to them. The blind protesters attempted to enter the assembly but the security staff failed their effort. Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Nadeem Afzal Chan and Khurram Wattoo reached the protest scene and raised ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans to support the blind people.
Haroon Sultan came to the assembly and delivered CM’s message to all the protesters that their demands would be met soon. Moreover, the government provided breakfast to the protesters in the morning while the opposition parties gave them juice and other food items.
