Unknown men trespass anchorperson Shiffa Yousafzai’s house, threaten staff

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Senior anchorperson Shiffa Yousafzai said unknown men trespassed on her house and threatened the staff and questioned them about her whereabouts.

In a video message released on Tuesday night, Ms Yousafzai said she was out with her family at the time of the incident. 

The Islamabad police said in a statement that Ms Yousafzai was safe and police had arranged adequate security for her. “Police will thoroughly investigate the incident to get to the bottom of it,” the statement said. An FIR has also been lodged at the Kohsar police station. No robbery has been reported. 

Prominent journalists and political leaders condemned the break-in and demanded the arrest of the suspects. 

 

Besides condemning the incident, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sought a report from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan.
