Fake spiritual leader burns mentally challenged woman in exorcise attempt
FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – A fake female spiritual leader burnt a mentally challenged woman in an attempt to exorcise leaving her fight for life at a hospital.
As per details, Shamim first branded Sonya with hot iron rods and then threw her in the fire. Wasim Dilawar, Sonya’s neighbor, had asked her mother-in-law Shamim to exorcise her. Branding is believed to be a treatment for diseases in traditional pactices. Sonya was later shifted to a nearby hospital.
Wasim Shehbaz, Sonya’s brother, has lodged a complaint nominating Shamim, Alia, Zarina, and Wasim Dilawar with the police. The police told that Shamim gave life threats to Sonya’s relatives.
