Illegal travel agents, in alleged connivance with FIA, have looted hundreds of aspiring immigrants

MULTAN (Dunya News): The number of unlawful travel agents has witnessed an unprecedented surge in Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan Divisions, thanks to clandestine support from the staffers of Federal Investigation Agency, who inform the agents of an imminent crackdown in advance to help them flee the crime scene.

This has reportedly been the reason behind federal investigative agency registering 373 different cases during last eleven months, of which 305 being human smuggling ones. To fill stacks of files and as part of legal formalities, FIA, however, did conduct 28 raids to bust this smuggling network, but to no avail as criminals were pre-informed on every such instance.

FIA officials contend that the lists contaning criminals  record have been dispatched to the relevant police stations and consultations are underway with associations, notwithstanding the political backing these human smugglers enjoy.

Despite receiving myriad new complaints, FIA remains reluctant to register fresh cases. This has prompted the affectees to look up to the interior minister and the prime minister, who have been appealed to take notice of the matter.
