JEDDAH (Dunya News) – The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a call for an immediate ceasefire from Israel, denouncing the attack on a Gaza hospital as a shameful act.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the OIC Secretary-General emphasised the urgent need for a resolution of the Palestine issue.

Hissein Ibrahim Taha stated that Israel continued to violate international laws, with Israeli forces launching attacks on unarmed Palestinians. As a result, the Palestinian people were enduring dire conditions and the loss of human lives, he added.

Taha stressed that the OIC was urging an immediate ceasefire and also called upon the international community to take decisive steps to address the Palestinian issue. He affirmed the unwavering support of the Muslim world for their Palestinian brethren.

The OIC official condemned the hospital attack by Israeli forces as a shameful act and called for the restoration of Palestinian rights, along with Israel's compliance with the 1967 resolution, and an immediate implementation of the two-state solution.

Pakistan's interim Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, strongly condemned the attack on Palestine. He characterised Israel's actions in Palestine as demonstrating fascism and the shedding of innocent blood.

Minister Jilani also highlighted the Israeli forces' involvement in the desecration of Masjid Al-Aqsa, and called on the United Nations to promptly resolve the Palestinian issue.

He reiterated Pakistan's solidarity with the Palestinian people.
