Summary The Time's magazine has explored the implications of Donald Trump Jr.'s recently released emails.

(Web Desk) – The son of the US president, Donald Trump Jr., has found his way on to the cover of the magazine’s July 24 issue.

However, Trump’s eldest son is probably not celebrating being on the cover of the prestigious magazine. The cover of the issue features an image of Trump Jr., along with the heading  Red Handed  and the text of his emails that he made public on Tuesday.

According to the emails that Donald Trump Jr. released, he had agreed to meet with someone he believed to be a ‘Russian government attorney’ last summer after he had received an email offering him ‘very high level and sensitive information’ that would lead to the incrimination of Hillary Clinton.

Time’s editor David Von Drehle did a cover story on the release of these emails, writing about how the emails release by Donald Trump Jr. could damage him and his father’s presidency. There had already been allegations on Trump that he colluded with Russians to influence the outcome of the US elections. According to the CNN, the emails released by Donald Trump Jr. seemingly lend support to these allegations, although not proving them, the emails show the Trumps’ intention to work with the Russians.

One cannot know whether Donald Trump Jr is happy with being featured on the cover of the magazine. But maybe this has made Trump Sr proud considering his obsession with being on the magazine’s covers.

The first time Trump was featured on the magazine in 1989, while the most recent incident of him appearing on the magazine’s cover was last year when he was named the magazine’s ‘person of the year’.

Trump also bragged about having the ‘all-time record’ of being on the cover of the Time magazine, a claim that is not true. The record is actually held by President Richard Nixon, who appeared on the cover of 55 times, while trump has only been featured 14 times on the magazine.

Moreover, last month, it was reported by the Washington Post that Trump had framed and hung a fake Time’s magazine cover in his clubs. The magazine was dated March 1, 2009, when there was actually no issue of the Time magazine on that date, neither was Trump featured on any cover in the whole of 2009. After the story was reported, the Time magazine had reportedly asked the US president to take down the fake cover.

Donald Trump Jr. being featured on the Time magazine is probably a  big  moment for the Trump family as now they have two members of the family who have the honour of being featured on the magazine.
