According to CNN, Corpus Christi Police said on Wednesday afternoon, the man found himself trapped while repairing a lock that connects to the ATM of a Bank of America.
The man had no phone and no one around to help him out. In desperation, he decided to slip an SOS message through the receipt slot, which was still in service, in hope that some bank customer would read it and help him.
Police said that the customers thought the notes were part of some prank and ignored it but later one man called the number written on the slip.
"Sure enough we can hear a little voice coming from the machine," Corpus Christi Police Senior Officer Richard Olden said. Police had to kick down a door to get the repairman out.
"You ll never see this again in your life that somebody is stuck in the ATM machine," Olden said. "It was just crazy."
