Summary Punjab has requested Army and Rangers deployment for Muharram security. A total of 137 companies will be deployed across 39 districts from 1st to 11th Muharram.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab authorities have sought the deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel to ensure comprehensive security arrangements during Muharramul Haram.
The Punjab Home Department has formally written to the Ministry of Interior seeking the assistance of the armed forces and Rangers to help maintain law and order during the religious period.
According to officials, a total of 137 companies have been requested for deployment across 39 districts of the province, including 61 companies of the Pakistan Army and 76 companies of the Rangers.
The security forces will be deployed from the 1st to the 11th of Muharram, with assignments based on the requirements of different districts to ensure peaceful observance of religious gatherings and processions.
