Murtaza Wahab warned that a dwindling economy can be revived, but not human life

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Spokesman Sindh Government Murtaza Wahab has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcements are a cause for confusion as on one hand, he has extended the countrywide lockdown but on the other, has allowed people to go in public and get haircuts. He said that he was surprised that the Prime Minister said Pakistan has had only a few deaths.

According to details, Spokesman Sindh Government Murtaza Wahab has said that he would like to make it clear that businesses will not be allowed to open from Wednesday unless they follow the government SOP’s.

Speaking exclusively to Dunya News, he said that while they respect the federal government s decision but they have certain reservations against it.

Murtaza Wahab said that the leniencies given by the federal government would lessen the effectiveness of the lockdown. However, SOP’s have been formulated for the industries that Prime Minister has decided to open.

He said that the business community should fully comply with government’s orders and in case a worker gets infected with the coronavirus due to his job, the manager of the company will bear the cost of the patient’s treatment.

He said that conflicting policies did not allow previous lockdowns to be as effective as they could have been and warned that a dwindling economy can be revived, but not human life.
