PPP chairman criticises the government for delaying progress on Karachi's water projects
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the federal government to release more funds for the development of Sindh.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of new Hub Canal project on Wednesday, PPP chairman criticised the federal government for delaying progress on Karachi's K-IV water project.
“It is unacceptable that Shehbaz Speed works swiftly for Punjab but slows down when Karachi’s turn comes,” said the PPP chairman.
He lauded the resilience of Karachi's people, saying they stood firm against politics of hatred, division, and terrorism.
Bilawal announced the launch of an additional water supply project for Karachi, which will bring water from the Hub Dam to the city through a new canal.

Referring to local governance, Bilawal said that the people of Karachi and Hyderabad had placed their trust in PPP by electing jiyala mayors, and they are now serving the masses.
Talking about foreign affairs, Bilawal said that India had attacked Pakistan following the example of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, but Pakistan responded decisively and achieved both military and diplomatic success.
He also warned that India is attempting to violate the Indus Waters Treaty, adding that Pakistan is fully prepared to respond on all fronts if such attempts are made.
The event was also attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, and other senior PPP leaders.
