Govt, opposition likely to reach mutual agreement on ECP members

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that both sides have agreed on names of two members of Election Commission

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government and opposition hinted to soon agree on names of Chief Election Commissioner and two other members. Government and opposition will share names on Friday.

According to details, government and opposition held a consultation meeting on appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and two other members. In the meeting Fakhar Imam, Shireen Mazari, Asad Umarr, Pervez Khattak and Ali Muhammad Khan represented government and on the other hand Shazia Marri, Naveed Qamar, Mushahid Ullah Khan Khan, Rana Tanveer, Rana Sanaullah and Shaza Fatima represented opposition.

According to sources government will present two new names. Government and opposition have decided to agree on a name and opposition claimed to reach agreement by Saturday.

PPP leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that both sides have agreed on names of two members of Election Commission.

PML-N leader Mushahid Ullah Khan said that issue of appointment of chief election commission should be resolved in the parliament and will reach an agreement in next meeting.
