Eradicating polio still a dream in Pakistan, concerted efforts the need of hour
Polio is already dead in other parts of world while in Pakistan it is flourishing without a halt.
(Web Desk) – The menace of polio has turned many healthy lives into impaired one. The victim makes the patient disable for the entire life. Getting rid of this disease seems a dream in Pakistan. At a time when it is fading away from the world, new cases are surfacing regularly in Pakistan.
According to figures of National Institute of Health, two new cases have surfaced in different regions of Pakistan: one in Landi Kotal while the other one in Karachi.
A resident of District Khyber Tehsil Landi Kotal Sara, an innocent girl of just four and a half year, is the recent victim of polio. Another one is from Karachi again a young child of four years of age. In the following years, a total of six cases have surfaced: three of them were from Balochistan, two from KP and one from Sindh.

World polio day is just around the corner 24 October and again the world including organizations working to make world free from different diseases would have an eye on us, exploring our collective weakness to tackle the menace of polio. Serious and concerted efforts are needed and for that spreading awareness not only in far-flung areas but also in metropolitans is the need of hour.
