Leaders from Opposition benches criticised govt over ICJ's verdict in favour of India

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition leaders criticised the government on Thursday after International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled in favour of India regarding convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case.

Former Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman said government remains stuck in Panama Leaks case, adding that the case pertaining to national security was ‘mishandled’.

ICJ ordered not to execute Kulbhushan until the final verdict by ruling, "Pakistan shall take all measures at its disposal to ensure that Mr Jadhav is not executed pending the final decision in these proceedings."

ICJ stays Jadhav s death sentence till final verdict

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Shafqat Mehmood argued that hidden decisions and policies for vested interests had proven to be damaging.

He even accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership of ‘deliberately’ planning a weak strategy for Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case in ICJ against India.

Both PTI and PPP converged on seeking reply from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about the case and also, organizing a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting.

India had earlier moved to ICJ against Kulbhushan Jadhav s death sentence which was confirmed after Pakistan trying him through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under Pakistan Army Act (PAA). He was proven guilty after confessing that he was tasked by RAW to plan, coordinate and organize espionage and sabotage activities aiming to destabilize and wage war against Pakistan in Balochistan and Karachi.
