Summary PM has an opportunity to normalise situation otherwise things might go worse : Khurshid Shah
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Attending a press conference on Friday, Opposition leader Khurshid Shah announced that they will not protest on PM s arrival to the Parliament. Shah stated that rather than rejecting the letter, Supreme Court (SC) has responded to the government over Panama Leaks case and has supported our stance regarding the Terms of Refrences (TORs) for the commission that will be probing the issue. He added that laws should be legislated in the Assembly before the formation of commission, reported Dunya News.
The opposition leader said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Opposition have already stated that Panama Leaks revelations had not been made by any media house or any political party but was an international issue. He said that Opposition has demanded Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to explain the matter in Assembly, adding that Opposition has been trying its best not to derail democracy.
He assured PM that Opposition will not create any fuss or chant slogans against him. Going a step fruther, he added that it depends on PM if he would like to answer questions or not. Shah further stated that the National Assembly session be broadcasted live.
He demanded that government should write another letter to SC before Monday and SC should be informed that government would approve TORs after consultation with Opposition. Shah also added that Chief Justice (CJ) has also been informed regarding the Opposition’s stance.
Shah further stated that PM has an opportunity to normalise the situation otherwise things might go worse. He stated that PM’s children have accepted that they own offshore companies and that now Opposition just wants to know about the source of the money and the tax paid.
