RAWALPINDI/FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Raja Riaz decided to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after meeting the party s chairman Imran Khan through Shah Mehmood Qureshi a few days back. Sources indicate that Riaz will make his announcement of joining the party during the public meeting to be held on May 20 in Faisalabad, reported Dunya News on Friday.

However, a number of PTI leaders seem not be pleased with Riaz’s inclusion in the party and ten of them complained about the cases filed against him in regards to gas theft along with presenting proofs of various allegations leveled against him when a local leader of the party arrived at Khan s Bani Gala residence to inform him about the preparations of the Faisalabad public meeting. The leaders claim that the party s reputation will be tarnished as a result of Riaz s inclusion.

Riaz was kept out of PPP s meetings by chairman Bilawal Bhutto upon which the former held a press conference to reflect upon his thoughts of being ignored. He also met with PPP leader Faryal Talpur who assured him of arranging a meeting with the party’s chairman but Bilawal decided not to meet Riaz. He made his choice of abandoning PPP based on these happenings, he will make his announcement of joining the party on May 20.

PPP workers celebrated upon Riaz s decision of abandoning the party as they held celebrations in Jinnah Colony, Faisalabad, by distributing sweets and by throwing footwear at the posters of the former provincial minister.
