PCB thanks ACC for accepting hybrid model
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board’s Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi on Thursday thanked the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for accepting the proposed hybrid model for the Asia Cup 2023.
In a video statement, Mr Sethi said, "We are bringing the Asia Cup to Pakistan. Our hybrid model has been accepted by the ACC. We will host at least four matches in the country. Finally, a multilateral event is going to take place in the country after 15 years".
"In the last few years, we have brought the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the country. We brought major cricketing countries to play in our country. We're all going to enjoy the Asia Cup," he added.

He continued, "Our passionate fans would have loved to see the Indian cricket team in action in Pakistan for the first time in 15 years, but we understand the BCCI’s position. Like the PCB, the BCCI also requires government approval and clearance before crossing borders".
Believing there was a dire need to propose the hybrid model, Mr Sethi said, "In this background, the hybrid model was the best solution, and that’s precisely why I advocated for it so strongly".
"The acceptance of the hybrid model means the event will take place as originally planned, the ACC will stay together and united, and the great game of cricket will continue to thrive and move forward in what will be interesting and exciting times for the subcontinent cricket fans from the ACC Asia Cup 2023 to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025," he asserted.
