LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former wife of Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim, digital media influencer Sania Ashfaq, has made fresh allegations regarding their marital life, accusing her ex-husband of abusive behaviour, mental pressure and neglect toward their children.
In a new post shared on Instagram, Sania Ashfaq alleged that she faced severe mental stress and controlling behaviour during the marriage.
She further claimed that Imad Wasim is unwilling to bear the children’s expenses and has shown no interest in meeting or speaking with them, while she continues efforts to secure custody of the children.
In her statement, Sania alleged that despite what she and her children went through, Imad continues to make public statements. She also claimed he deceived her during pregnancy and said his controlling behaviour made her life extremely difficult.
Sania further alleged that Imad Wasim was arrested in the United Kingdom in July 2025 over allegations related to domestic violence and said there were concerns he wanted to separate her from the children. She also claimed pressure was exerted by his family to withdraw her statement, prompting intervention by social services.
She added that social workers recently asked Imad whether he wanted to speak to his children, but he allegedly gave no response. According to Sania, he neither wants to meet nor speak with the children but continues to create difficulties for her in custody matters. She said she would continue protecting her children and hopes the truth about their treatment will eventually come to light.
Meanwhile, Imad Wasim also publicly responded to the matter.
In an Instagram story, the cricketer issued what he called a final warning, saying he divorced Sania for personal reasons and that chapter of his life is now closed.
Imad stated that his current wife, Naila Raja, should not be dragged into the controversy, saying she has no connection to the dispute and entered his life after the divorce.
He also urged his former wife to accept reality and stop what he described as repeated public drama, adding that this would be the last time he addresses the matter publicly.
The allegations made by both parties are claims and counterclaims that have not been independently verified.
