LAHORE (Dunya News) — Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has praised the provincial administration, law enforcement agencies and relevant departments for ensuring a peaceful, dignified and well-organised observance of Muharram-ul-Haram across Punjab.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Maryam Nawaz said, “Alhamdulillah... well done Team Punjab,” adding that, like last year, Muharram was observed in a peaceful and organised manner.

She appreciated provincial ministers, members of the Punjab Assembly, district administrations, Punjab Police, law enforcement agencies, Rescue 1122, Suthra Punjab teams, the Health Department and Local Government officials for their round-the-clock efforts in maintaining arrangements for processions and gatherings.
The chief minister said exemplary arrangements were made to provide relief to mourners despite extreme heat. She highlighted the installation of cold water stalls along procession routes, rose water sprinkling and the use of water misting through smog guns to reduce the impact of high temperatures.
She said Suthra Punjab teams ensured effective cleanliness arrangements along routes of processions and gatherings, while cooperation among all institutions demonstrated strong teamwork.
Maryam Nawaz specifically appreciated the services of Punjab Police, saying officers and personnel remained active on roads despite scorching weather conditions and provided complete security to mourners.
She said the dedication and continuous efforts of police personnel helped ensure that Ashura concluded in a peaceful environment.
Concluding her message, the chief minister said all those dedicated to public service deserved appreciation, adding, “You are our pride.”
