Summary A Toyota Hiace burns on Murree Expressway without casualties, raising concerns over repeated vehicle fires and emergency response delays.

MURREE (Dunya News) — A Toyota Hiace travelling from Rawalpindi caught fire while moving on Murree Expressway, completely destroying the vehicle, although no casualties were reported.

According to rescue sources, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed the entire vehicle, reducing it to ashes. Fortunately, all passengers remained safe.

Sources said this was the third incident of a vehicle catching fire on Murree Expressway within the last month, raising concerns among commuters and local residents.

During the incident, delays were reported in the initial rescue response due to the National Highways and Motorway Police not reaching the site promptly. Rescue and fire brigade vehicles also faced difficulties accessing the location due to closed U-turns.

The incident comes days after a tragic road accident on Murree Expressway claimed the lives of 10 members of the same family, prompting questions over safety arrangements and emergency response mechanisms on the highway.
