JIT declares 16 PTI workers innocent in Jinnah House attack case

Defense lawyers requested the withdrawal of the interim bail for the innocent accused.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to investigate the May 9 incidents has declared 16 PTI workers innocent.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore heard the case regarding the attack on Jinnah House and the arson incidents. ATC Judge Manzoor Ali Gill presided over the hearing.

A total of 39 PTI workers appeared in court as their interim bail period expired. The JIT presented its investigative report to the court.

According to the JIT report, 16 accused individuals were declared innocent. The innocent persons included Mohammad Rafiq, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Zohaib, Mohammad Hamza, Shahid Hussain, Shahroz Khan, and 10 others.

Based on the JIT report, the defense lawyers requested the withdrawal of the interim bail for the innocent accused, which the court accepted.

Meanwhile, the interim bail for the other accused was extended until November 29 for further investigation.
