(Web Desk) – With the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon sighted in Pakistan on Sunday, Eid Milad-un-Nabi is to be celebrated across the country on December 1 (Friday).
Ruet-e-Hilal Committee convened the moon-sighting meeting in Karachi at the office of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) which was presided over by chairman of the committee, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman. Following the meeting, it was announced that Eid Milad-un-Nabi is to be celebrated on the first of December. The meeting was attended by members of zonal committee and Met Office representatives.
Muslims across the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
Ahead of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi, rallies celebrating the beginning of Rabi-ul-Awwal were held across Pakistan. Shops and stalls have begun displaying banners, flags and badges while buildings and mosques have also been decorated as part of the celebrations.
