(Dunya News) – Like those who live on land, those who earn from the sea marked the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in their own unique way.

Taking the celebrations of the 12th of Rabbiul Awwal off the coast, fishermen of Karachi expressing their love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) held a boating rally from the port into the sea.

Spreading the colours of festivity, Karachi’s fishermen decorated their boats and sailed off. While the tunes of naat being played from the adorned boats added to their beauty, the fishermen told Dunya News that the tradition has continued for ages – their elders doing the same back in their times.

“It’s our way of expressing our love to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We decorate our houses and our boats, and celebrate his arrival,” said a fisherman.

The rally lightening up the sea waters, added to the celebrations being held across the globe to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi with religious fervour.
