Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH): Mobile phone service suspended in parts of country

Police and Rangers are on continuous patrolling on the routes of the rallies.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The cellular services in different parts of the country are suspended as the nation is observing Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

The services have been blocked in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkhur, Quetta and other cities whereas pillion riding has also been banned in Balochistan and Rawalpindi.

On the other hand, police and Rangers are on continuous patrolling on the routes of the rallies.

Earlier, the sacred day dawned with 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in all the provincial capitals to pay homage to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Special prayers offered after Namaz-e-Fajar for the unity of Muslim Ummah, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. 

The federal government had announced public holiday in all educational institutes and government offices for the occasion. Various organizations have arranged special events and ceremonies to mark the occasion.

Preparations and arrangements for celebrating “Eid Milad-Un-Nabi” on Rabi-ul-Awal 12, are in full swings across Pakistan. The mosques, buildings and homes are being decorated with colorful lights, flags and banners.
