Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) being celebrated with religious zeal today

Various organizations have arranged special events and ceremonies to mark the occasion.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) is being celebrated today with religious zeal and fervor across the country.

The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salute in all the provincial capitals to pay homage to the last Prophet (PBUH). There is a public holiday today.

Special prayers were offered in the mosques after Fajr prayer for peace, prosperity and development of the country. Special conferences, events and Mehafil-e-Milaad are being arranged to pay respect to the last messenger whose whole life and teachings are beacon of light for the whole mankind.

In connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi, a National Seerat Conference under the aegis of Ministry of Religious Affairs will be held in Islamabad tomorrow. President Mamnoon Hussain would be the chief guest at the moot which would be attended by a number of delegates from home and abroad.

Prominent Ulema will highlight various aspects of Seerat-un Nabi (PBUH) calling upon people to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) for their salvation.

Mosques, buildings, markets, streets and homes have been decorated and illuminated with colourful lights and buntings. People have also decorated their houses with colorful lights and green flags to show their immeasurable love with the Last Prophet.

In Punjab, Milad processions are being taken out in Lahore and all other cities and town in the province. Punjab Emergency Service has made arrangements for providing assistance to the people and over nine thousand rescuers are performing their duties in the province.

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, (PBUH), is also being celebrated with reverence in Karachi and other parts of Sindh province. In connection with the day, Mahafil-e-Naat and Milad are being held all over the city while processions will also be taken out to express devotion and respect for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The main procession in this regard will be taken out from Memon Mosque this afternoon. The procession, after passing through its traditional routes, will culminate at Nishtar Park where main Mehfil-e-Milad will be held.

The government has made foolproof security arrangements for the day with deployment of law enforcement agency personnel along the routes of procession and venues of Mahafil-e-Milad. Mobile phones service has also been suspended in Karachi for security reason.

The day is also being celebrated in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan with great respect. On the occasion Naat and speech contest will be held in Women Degree college in Gilgit. In Astore, Eid- Milad procession will bring out from Gurikot polo ground which passing through main road will culminate.


Messages of President and Prime Minister


In his message on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) , President Mamnoon Hussain has stressed the need for following the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and promote his Uswah Hussana for the well-being of the humanity.

He said that we as the followers of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) should ensure peace and stability in the country obeying his teachings as his life is a complete example for us.

In his message, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi congratulated the entire nation on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) and urged the need for following the path of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to create an environment of love, peace and harmony in the country.

He said the best way to celebrate this blessed day is an affirmation from ourselves to prove before the world with our character, way of talking and acts that we are the Umah of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

The Prime Minister on this occasion also paid tribute to all martyrs, ghazis and mujahideen who offered great sacrifices for the defence of the motherland.
