Khurshid Shah says Panama Leaks issue has set fire across country

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Members of the opposition parties boycotted the session of the National Assembly (NA) on Monday and threatened that they shall not be a part of any session until Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif presents his stance regarding the investigation of the Panama Leaks in the Parliament, reported Dunya News.

The National Assembly’s session on Monday was utmost turbulent as members of the government and the opposition lambasted one another. Government MNAs began to hoot while Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed was delivering his speech. Verbal clash also took place between Sheikh Rasheed and Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah stated that the revelations made through the Panama Leaks have set a fire across the country but the PM is not in the Parliament to discuss such an important issue. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi also mocked at the empty chair of the PM in the National Assembly.

Opposition members boycotted the session when Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasised on introducing the adjournment motion upon the Panama Leaks according to the rules of the Assembly. The Speaker assigned the task of negotiating with the opposition members to four governmental ministers, including Pervaiz Rashid, Riaz Pirzada, Barjees Tahir and Zahid Hamid but their efforts proved to be in vain.

The session was adjourned till Tuesday by the Speaker.
