Bookie named Autham has named Indian cricketers in the spot-fixing scandal.
NEW DELHI (Dunya News): Indian bookie has named Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina in Indian Premiere League (IPL) betting and spot-fixing scam, Dunya News reported.
In a testimony included with probing panel’s report to Indian Supreme Court, a bookie named Autham has named Indian cricketers in the spot-fixing scandal.
During a fake passport investigation, Indian Railways SP G Sampath Kumar reportedly came in touch with bookies and submitted the report to Justice Mukul Mudgal of Indian Supreme Court.
The players named in the scandal are likely to come under the heat for this new development as the names surfaced in the report filed on Monday in Supreme court by the government appointed committee probing the IPL betting scam.
In its report, the three-member committee headed by former Punjab and Haryana Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal had revealed that former Indian board President I S Bindra had also hinted that he knew two reputed cricketers who were allegedly involved in the fixing scam.
Following the reports, Justice Mudgal has not cleared anyone’s name adding that further probing is needed into this matter. However the questions about allegedly deliberate cover provided to the named players following current developments have hit the world of cricket news.
