Summary Iran has intensified its rhetoric against Donald Trump, insisting Washington must recognise Tehran’s rights while also seeking compensation and weighing diplomatic proposals.
TEHRAN (Web Desk) – Iran has escalated its rhetoric towards the United States, with senior officials declaring that US President Donald Trump has little room to manoeuvre unless Washington accepts Tehran’s demands and recognises what Iranian leaders describe as the country’s legitimate rights.
The latest remarks came from Iranian Defence Ministry spokesman Reza Talaei-Nik, who warned that any failure by Washington to comply with Iran’s demands would result in further setbacks for the United States and its leadership.
Speaking to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, Talaei-Nik said the US and its allies had reached a decisive stage both on the battlefield and in diplomatic efforts.
“The only way out of the third imposed war for the American-Zionist enemy, on both the battlefield and in diplomacy, is to secure the demands of the Iranian people,” he said.
He further argued that Washington’s position had become increasingly difficult, saying Trump should avoid exposing Americans and the wider international community to additional losses linked to continued conflict.
“While accepting Iran’s proposal, Trump should also be mindful of preventing further losses and costs in the continuation of the war for the American people and the international community,” Talaei-Nik added.
Compensation call
As tensions remain elevated, Tehran has also widened its demands beyond political and military rhetoric. Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has called for countries in the Persian Gulf region to compensate Iran for damages.
Iravani submitted a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council on Friday local time.
In the communication, the Iranian envoy reportedly urged Persian Gulf states to fully compensate Iran for what he described as damages linked to recent developments.
The move signals Tehran’s effort to internationalise its grievances and place additional diplomatic pressure on regional actors, while simultaneously engaging with global institutions.
Diplomatic signals
The latest statements also come as Iran continues to weigh diplomatic pathways, even while maintaining criticism of Washington.

Iranian Foreign Ministry officials reportedly informed United Nations leadership that Tehran remains involved in diplomatic processes despite what it called repeated betrayals and military aggression. At the same time, Iranian officials accused the United States of presenting “excessive demands”, adding another layer of friction to already strained negotiations.
