Silence of media on recent killing of 3 Arab Muslims in #ChapelHillShooting forced tweeps to react

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Three Arab Muslims were killed in North Carolina state of the United States of America (USA) in a horrifying act on February 10, 2015. The unfortunate Muslims, named as Deah Shaddy Barakat, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha were killed in #ChapelHillShooting at their home when a self-confessed atheist Craig Stephen Hicks shot at them. Police has reported that the killer used to quarrel with neighbors frequently over various issues and he shot the Muslim neighbors because of some parking issue.

However, a large number of people have rejected the story being offered by the accused and they firmly believe that the murders were religiously motivated. The thing that they resented the most was the relative low tone adopted by the media that generally runs marathon transmissions when the killings are done by Muslims. There were others who urged the media to #CallItTerrorism as happens every time the accused is a Muslim.

On Twitter, there were several hashtags trending about the incident but one that attracted the tweeps most was #MuslimLivesMatter.

People generally didn t buy the story that the problem was just about some parking issue between the neighbors.

Some used satire to press that the issue wasn t just some neighborhood conflict.

People seemed quite shocked over media s overall silence over the matter.

Some quoted the twentieth century Muslim thinker from USA Malcom X as they felt media was deliberately trying to cover up the issue.

Some resented the fact that they had to trend a hashtag just to remind the media that #MuslimLivesMatter..

Rehling reminded the American policy-makers that there was a time when they were friends with the terrorists.

Tweeps sent love to the dead. And many of them were White people, proving that the haters are small in number.

There were yet others who criticized the hate-mongers saying things against Muslims even when they were on the receiving end of an incident.

And there was no shortage of the apologists either.

Some were worried about their loved ones in view of this new Anti-Muslim wave in the US and West.

But most importantly, there were people calling for giving up all hatred and uniting with each other.
