Three robbers involved in kidnapping bus passengers killed in police operation

ROJHAN (Dunya News) – Punjab and Sindh Police launched a joint operation against the riverine (Katcha) bandits, who had kidnapped passengers of a Quetta-bound bus, and eliminated three of them, Dunya News reported here on Thursday.

The dead outlaws have been identified as Shiro Korai, Ashiq Mota and Lala Sukhani. There was a fierce exchange of fire between the police and the outlaws. Their bodies were sent to hospital for medicolegal procedures.

According to eyewitnesses, the robbers took some passengers with them, leaving children and women, the claim police have rejected.

Police have not confirmed the abduction of passengers and claimed the commuters were afraid of the robbers and might have hidden in fields.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place within the limits of Kanbhadra police station.

Eyewitnesses said that the number of robbers was in the dozens and they all had modern weapons.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a large contingent of police and Rangers reached the scene and cordoned off the area.

Police said some passengers were missing and have hidden in the sugarcane crop out of fear, adding they cannot confirm the kidnapping of the passengers.
