When it came to whether to change the name, there was much disagreement.
NEW YORK (Web Desk) - A woman feels like the name she and her partner picked for their daughter doesn t suit her, and she wants to change it. However, her partner doesn t agree.
Taking to a forum, the woman explained: "We had a baby girl four months ago, and I really struggled to pick out a name. I was experiencing burnout at work and was just feeling very frazzled in the lead up to the birth."
Despite struggling, she and her partner decided on the name Mia for their daughter after "lots of deliberation". But now, after months of calling the child Mia, she doesn t feel like it suits her.
Now the mum wants to change her tot s name to Isla, but her partner is "against changing as he says he s bonded with the name Mia".
She continued: "But whenever I hear it being spoken I really cringe (no offence to the name at all, it s just what I ve got in my head).
The mum asked for advice from her family, but because the "names are similar", they told her to just "live with Mia" – but she just can t shake it.
Commenters agreed that Mia is an increasingly popular baby name. In 2022, it came in 13th place of most popular names for baby girls. However, many preferred Isla, which in the same list came in fourth place.
