Warrior-IX: Pakistan, China armies hold joint counterterrorism drills

Pakistan and China are conducting the two-week Warrior-IX joint counterterrorism exercise, highlighting growing defence collaboration and operational synergy.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are currently engaged in a joint counterterrorism exercise, Warrior-IX, running from 28 November to 14 December 2025.
The two-week exercise is designed to enhance interoperability and strengthen military-to-military cooperation between the two nations, according to the Pakistani military's media wing.
The Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) ceremony took place at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi on Thursday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of China to Pakistan, attended as the Chief Guest, alongside senior Chinese dignitaries. The Chief of General Staff, Pakistan Army, participated as the Guest of Honour.
During the visit, the guests were briefed on the scope, objectives, and conduct of the joint drills. They observed multiple counterterrorism exercises and praised the professionalism, operational competence, and high morale displayed by troops from both Pakistan and China.
Warrior-IX reflects the growing defence collaboration between Pakistan and China and underscores the commitment of both Armed Forces to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
